Christmas Eve Crib Service - St Marys Builth Wells

Almost 100 attended the annual Crib Service in St Marys Church this evening. The church bells sounded over the town welcoming everyone.  Mrs Janet Day the licensed lay minister (reader) lead the service assisted by her husband David Day who played the organ.  Helping to hand out the nativity set and service sheets were Elizabeth and Dot who also took the collection during the last carol.  This is the third time this service has taken place and is becoming more popular with the people of Builth Wells and surrounding areas. The nativity story is told during which the children bring up each and every part of the knitted nativity characters.  The children love this starting with the donkey, Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus and so on.  Lots of sheep are available so that every child can take part in building the nativity. Thank you everyone for making this such a community service "said Mrs Janet Day".
